The Dave LewAllen Podcast - Episode 51 - Steve Annear, CEO of the Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinson's on his Kilimanjaro Challenge and the new Kirk Gibson Center

Dave LewAllen Season 2 Episode 51

Steve Annear is CEO of the Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinson's and he is about to embark on the Kilimanjaro Challenge. He plans to climb to the summit Africa's highest peak to raise awareness and garner support for the new Kirk Gibson Center for Parkinson's Wellness, which opens in Farmington Hills on October 6.
What's even more amazing than the trek itself, is that Annear will climb the mountain on crutches. He lost his left leg at age 11 due to a blood circulation problem but his physical limitations have not stopped him from meeting and exceeding challenges.
Learn more about Steve's story and Gibson's vision for the 30,000 foot facility that will serve the Parkinson's community in southeast Michigan and beyond.
The former Tiger great was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2015 and he battles the disease day by day by remaining physically active.  The center will provide programs and services to help others afflicted with the disease to do the same.
