The "Son of Swami" has retired (again) after covering prep sports in Michigan for the majority of his 55 years at the Detroit Free Press. He's watched and written about the best high school athletes the state has produced and profiled the top teams. McCabe made sure to feature deserving athletes, no matter the sport. He also set the standard for coverage of girls sports, providing an equal platform within the pages of the Free Press.
